I am pleased that you are considering the Family Medicine Residency at Fort Wayne Medical Education Program.
We are located in Northeastern Indiana and have been providing residency education since 1972. Fort Wayne Medical Education Program's Family Medicine Residency is the only dually ACGME / AOA accredited family medicine residency in Indiana and with maximum accreditation, and the program received ACGME Osteopathic Recognition July 1, 2015.
With over 1000 patient beds we are one of the largest unopposed residencies in the US, providing an abundance of clinical pathology, patients, and learning opportunities. The Family Medicine Clinic is a State of the Art 21,000 square foot clinic with four dedicated procedure rooms and Electronic Medical Record system, where residents and faculty train and practice. Fort Wayne Medical Education Program's Family Medicine Center practices the Patient Centered Medical Home model for patient care. Fort Wayne Medical Education Program is one of the largest community-based medical education consortia in the US with all hospitals and the Fort Wayne Medical Society as partners.
We are a full spectrum medical education and research foundation providing medical student rotations, Family Medicine Residency training, visiting resident training, CME (continuing medical education) in all specialties, and primary care community-based research.

TOP 5 REASONS OUR RESIDENTS CHOSE TO TRAIN AT FORT WAYNE FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY
The residency's Family Medicine Center is an integral part of our total education program. Located in an attractive medical office complex, the Center functions much like a large family medicine group.
Training also takes place in three main hospitals, six regional associate hospitals, and two clinics. Offering access to a large variety of patients and conditions, and over 1000 hospital beds, FWMEP is one of the largest unopposed Family Medicine residencies.
A Great Place to Train
Due to its size, Fort Wayne gives you exposure to a large number of patients and a wide variety of clinical pathology.
A Great Place to Learn
As a family physician, you will be respected here. Fort Wayne values its family physicians and treats them accordingly.
A Great Place to Call Home
Fort Wayne is a very friendly city that is big enough to include lots of things to do, yet small enough to avoid that “big city” feeling.
