The Indiana Academy of Family Physicians (IAFP) 2016-2017

The Indiana Academy of Family Physicians (IAFP) hosts a yearly Research Day for Residents and Faculty to present their research/scholarly activity projects.  All Indiana Family Residency Programs are invited to participate in this competitive event that showcases both podium and poster presentations.

Our residents took 1st and 2nd place in both original research and in the poster presentation category.

ORIGINAL RESEARCH CATEGORY:

1st Place:  Traditional Pediatric Vision Screening Versus Vision Screening Using the Welch Allyn Spot™ Vision Screener.  Presenters:  Braden Parmer, MD and Trever VanderHorst, MD.  

2nd Place:  A Retrospective Analysis of Overdose Deaths in Allen County.  Presenters:  Chris Brubaker, MD and David Murphy, DO.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS:

1st Place:  Interventions to Reduce High Risk Medication Use in the Geriatric Population.  Presenters:  Manju Kanikunnel MD and Syed Hasan, MD

2nd Place:  Does Access to Primary Care Physicians Impact Health Outcomes?  Indiana County by County Assessment. Presenter: Drew Hosier, DO
