Stephanie Flaig-Miller, DO
Hi! My name is Stephanie and I am excited to be coming to Fort Wayne. I am originally from Marion, Indiana, but I grew up visiting Fort Wayne a lot because the majority of my family lives here. I moved to Indianapolis where I completed my BS in Biology from IUPUI. I then continued my education at IUPUI and received an MS in Biology, with a research focus on polycystic kidney disease. Afterwards, I continued my exciting research with IU School of Medicine and IUPUI School of Biology, but it was during this time I decided medicine was the path for me. I attended Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine and it was during my time in medical school, especially rotations where I developed a love for family medicine and all it has to offer.
I enjoy all aspects of family medicine, but I am especially passionate about women’s health. I choose chose FWMEP because it offers the opportunity to be trained in full-spectrum family medicine, with lots of exposure to obstetrics. But more importantly, I felt welcomed here from my month I spent on an audition rotation to (for) my interview. It was such a supportive and caring environment with lots of academic opportunities.
During my time at IUPUI, I met my husband Josh, and we were married during my first year of medical school. We then welcomed our daughter, Elena, in December of 2016. I love spending time with my family, and watching our daughter grow into a beautiful little girl.
In my free time, I enjoy working out, volunteering at animal shelters, being outside, playing tennis and spending time with my friends. However, I enjoy the most, spending my time with my family, taking my daughter to dance and swim classes, going the park, walking our dog, Maya, and playing with our two cats. With my family by my side, I am looking forward to enjoying and working my next three years here in Fort Wayne.
