Brittany Kauffman, MD

Southern Indiana born and raised, I’m excited to be heading to the other end of the state for my residency training! I grew up in rural Spencer county and attended the University of Southern Indiana for my undergraduate degree in Biology. I then attended Indiana University School of Medicine, spending all four years at the Evansville campus. I met my now husband, an entrepreneur and greater Fort Wayne area native, during medical school.

The FWMEP was my top choice due to their opportunities to learn full spectrum care in an unopposed education environment. Learning everything it takes to provide full spectrum care in a 3-year family medicine residency is challenging – but Fort Wayne has not only the rotations available to do so, but recent graduates currently practicing in that style. I am deeply passionate about caring for and uplifting vulnerable women and children, I have been involved with organizations supporting women and their children who are in domestic violence situations since my freshmen year of undergraduate. Full spectrum training is important to me so that I can provide the best healthcare possible to families in need, particularly those from rural areas like my home town.

Outside of work, I am definitely a nerd and cat lady (4 cats!). My husband and I spend a lot of our free time playing board games, video games, and working to build his business, which is an online hobby store. We even dabble some in streaming video games on Twitch. I also love to cook and garden.
