David Murphy, DO
Hello! My name is David Murphy. I was born and raised in Philadelphia. I grew up playing the saxophone and running track. After graduating high school I moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University, where I continued to run collegiate track and developed a strong interest in medicine. During my college experience, I spent two years in Hawaii serving a mission for my church. It was on my mission where I truly learned how to love others through dedicated service.
Before attending medical school I started a business and accomplished my goal of running in the Boston Marathon. I also met my beautiful wife, Shawna, who grew up in Seattle. Shortly after we were married, we moved back to the East Coast to attend medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. During medical school we were blessed to start our family. Together as a family we enjoy exercising, watching movies, and cooking (only because we love eating!).
We are excited to be living in Fort Wayne! After thoroughly exploring and interviewing with programs across the nation, we fell in love with Fort Wayne and the residency program here. From the caring community, to the lush natural resources, it was an ideal place. We are looking forward to contributing to the elite cutting edge level of healthcare provided in Fort Wayne.
I am passionate about preventative health. My goal is to encourage and support my patients as they strive to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Other interests in medicine include sports medicine, addiction medicine and obstetric care. I am very happy to be serving here as part of Fort Wayne Family Medicine!
