David T. Furman, Jr., DO
Hello! My name is David Furman, and I look forward to returning to my hometown of Fort Wayne for residency training. I obtained my undergraduate degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana where I also spent time working as an EMT. Upon completion I got married to my wonderful wife and we moved up to Appleton, Wisconsin where I worked as Campus Life administrator and Pharmacy Technician. We then returned to Indiana where I attended Ball State University for my Master's degree in Physiology. After teaching physiology and anatomy as adjunct faculty, my wife and I moved down to Spartanburg, South Carolina where I attended the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas Campus.
Choosing to move back to Fort Wayne for my Family Medicine training was the perfect choice. I looked all over the country for a community-based, unopposed, dually accredited program and was happily surprised to find that the FWMEP was exactly what I was looking for 'in my own backyard!' I have been continuously impressed with the friendly, supportive environment that is created and know that this program will provide the continued training to hone my skills as well-rounded family physician.
Outside of medicine, I love spending time with my wife and son. We enjoy traveling, eating great food, attending local festivals and watching the Colts win!
