Clem Wegman, MD
Hi! My name is Clem Wegman, but I go by John (my middle name) just to confuse everyone. I am a Midwesterner through and through, born in Cincinnati. I attended the Ohio State University for my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science. During my time there, I was able to explore my interests in both academic research and clinical medicine. I was greatly drawn to the personal connections that clinical work entailed and decided to remain at Ohio State for my medical education.
My road to family medicine was certainly not a direct path, as I had interests in psychiatry, internal medicine, and even surgery during medical school. While the factors that drew me to family medicine are too numerous to list, its comprehensive and compassionate care delivered in a personalized manner is what sold me the most. I was ecstatic to discover Ft. Wayne, as an unopposed community program in the Midwest that embodies these ideals. The flexibility of training options, from practice management education to advanced obstetrical skills, was another huge plus to me. Finally, I felt connected with both the residents and faculty during my interview day and second look. Ft. Wayne just really felt like home, and I am so excited to be joining the program!
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, backpacking, fishing, reading, and beer brewing, as well as spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to exploring all the recreational opportunities that Ft. Wayne has to offer.
