Rebecca Mason, MD
Hello hello! I’m Becki Mason and I’m so excited to be joining FMWEP! I was born and raised in Fishers, Indiana by two very enthusiastic Hoosiers. I followed in their footsteps and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where I majored in biology and minored in Spanish, chemistry, and psychology. While at IU, I participated in a couple of medical trips abroad to Ghana and Honduras – solidifying my desire to work in medicine. I then attended the IU School of Medicine and have spent all four years of my medical school career here in Fort Wayne!
After doing many rotations here in Fort Wayne, I knew that the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program was where I wanted to train. The unopposed nature of the program and broad learning opportunities coupled with the wonderful residents and supportive faculty made the decision easy for me. In addition, the medical community in this area is incredible and the amount of services and support provided to patients is outstanding. It’s a system I’m very honored to get to learn from! I have special interest in adolescent health, global and refugee health, and working in underserved areas.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching movies (thank you to the creator of MoviePass!), traveling domestically and abroad, and spending time with friends! I’m lucky enough to have friends living all over the world and try to visit at least one of them every year. I also love exploring new things to do in and around town! While I don’t currently have any human children, I am the proud mother of 4 furry children – 2 dogs and 2 cats – and we spend a lot of time out at the dog park!
