Matthew Wells, MD
Hi! I'm Matthew, and I am thrilled to be in Fort Wayne! As a native Hoosier, I grew up in LaPorte, Ind. Cross-country and track took me to the University of Indianapolis, where I completed my undergraduate degree in Human Biology and Kinesiology. More importantly, though, that's where I met my beautiful wife, Michelle! She is also from Indiana, as she grew up in the bustling metropolis of Shipshewana, just an hour outside Fort Wayne.
Medicine was always my goal. I attended Ross University on the beautiful island of Dominica where I developed a strong desire to serve the underserved. From Dominica, I finished my clinical training in Miami and Detroit. I decided on family medicine, as I want to return to rural communities of Indiana and serve every type of patient from pediatric to geriatric.
Fort Wayne was the perfect fit! I began researching programs at the beginning of my medical school career and found FWMEP. I never looked back. From the tailored curriculum, to the supportive staff, it couldn't be a more perfect fit.
Outside of medicine, I still run, enjoy trying local eateries, and cheering on college football (Go Irish!) However, the highlight of my days is anything shared with my family – my wife and two boys!
