Kimberly Schelb, MD
Hi everyone! My name is Kim Schelb and I am so excited to be coming to Fort Wayne for my next 3 years! I was born and raised in Marion, Ohio and then ventured to Springfield, Ohio for undergrad where I majored in Biology/Chemistry at Wittenberg University. I attended Ross University for medical school, where I traveled to the beautiful island of Dominica and then did my clinical training in downtown Los Angeles.
FWMEP was a very easy choice for me. I wanted an unopposed program to maximize my opportunities as a family doctor and the faculty truly convinced me that they would do everything they could to get me the best experience. But what sealed the deal for me was, hands down, the residents. Everyone along the interview trail was very nice but the residents here in Fort Wayne were the only people I really felt that I would want to hang out with outside of work. I wanted a place that would feel like home and Fort Wayne was it.
Outside of medicine, my activities are weather-dependent. I love to travel. Few things beat a long cross-country road trip and exploring nature. I've also played basketball and tennis for years. However, when the weather is a little rough, I turn into an old soul and would rather put on a pot of tea or coffee and curl up inside with my dog and a good book.
