Brenda Vazquez, MD
Hello, my name is Brenda Vazquez and I grew up in La Puente, California. I went to UCLA where I majored in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology and minored in Spanish. I then decided to get a master's degree in Biology at California State University, Los Angeles. Then I had a short career working as a clinical analyst where I made meta-analyses for medical companies on various subjects such as diabetes, glaucoma, and bariatric surgery. I then went to medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine.
I decided to go to Fort Wayne because I was looking for a program that prepared me to be a highly qualified physician, but also looked at the future and prepared me for the upcoming challenges in primary care such as mental health, geriatrics, and health management. Seeing that the program had a strong curriculum and electives I was excited when I got an interview. At my interview I felt that he residents knew each other very well, and were very supportive of each other; a nurturing and supportive learning environment was exactly what I was looking for!
During my free time I enjoy cooking, yoga, audio books, and watching movies. I am a very big fan of hiking, and I love planning trips to different national parks so I can do so. As far as sports, I really enjoy going to live baseball games in the summer, following college football in the fall, and March Madness in the spring.
