Andrew Wieging, MD
Hello, my name is Andy Wieging. I come from Delphos, a small town about an hour east of Fort Wayne in Ohio. I went to the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!) for my undergraduate education, majoring in Pre-Med and Classical Greek. While at Notre Dame, I played the baritone in several university bands, including the Marching Band. Upon graduating, I attended St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, doing my clinical rotations in the Atlantic Health System in northern New Jersey.
My goal is to have a full-spectrum practice, and the advanced training which FWMEP offers is exactly what I want. The fit with the faculty and residents also helped to solidify my desire to do residency here. Being back in the Midwest, away from the hustle and bustle of New Jersey is a great bonus!
In my spare time, I like going camping, rafting, and hiking, having completed a decent amount of the Appalachian Trail. As a voracious reader, I enjoy reading books of all genres and periods from Herodotus to Tolkien. But mostly, I enjoy getting together with friends, whether that be for a bonfire, board games (especially Risk), or card games (euchre is the game of choice).
