Allen Maertin, DO
Hi, my name is Allen Maertin and I am from Southeast Michigan. I graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school and spent my 3rd year working in one of the poorest counties in the country, where I fell in love with rural Family Medicine.
After spending a month in Fort Wayne while doing an audition rotation, I instantly knew that this was where I wanted to do my residency training. The program had everything I was looking for: procedures, strong inpatient training, a superb outpatient clinic, and a program that was unopposed. The residents and faculty made me feel welcomed, respected and a part of their family. Most importantly after showing my wife the city and introducing her to some of the residents and faculty, she was sold too. We are so excited to be living in Fort Wayne and honored to be a part of FWMEP.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife Jen and son Jaxon. I enjoy outdoor activities and all sports, especially ultimate frisbee, soccer, and basketball. I love hanging out with friends, playing board games, and all things Michigan football.
