Orthopaedic Surgery Residency
Welcome to the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency of the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program, one of two orthopaedic residency programs in Indiana. As a resident in our 10-resident program, you will experience and appreciate the differences immediately.

With our non-competing residency environment, you'll have a focused, dedicated relationship with your preceptors. This one-on-one relationship will provide you with more surgical experience from day one.

First hand clinical experiences start at the beginning of your residency. Our residents average over 2500 cases as first assistant by the time they complete their residency training.

Our preceptors have been trained in various parts of the country, providing you with diverse solutions in treating similar cases. Our program is supported by 22 orthopaedic sub-specialists and 10 general orthopaedists.

You will experience extensive doctor patient contact in our three supporting hospitals and our community-based orthopaedic surgery clinic. And you will also enrich your medical education with community medicine. Six outpatient clinics covering a wide spectrum of adult and pediatric orthopaedic problems include the Crippled Children's Clinic, Foot Clinic, Scoliosis Clinic, Fort Wayne State Hospital Clinic, Myelomeningocele Clinic, and the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic.
